Its National Grief Awareness Week 2-8th DecemberGrief isn’t something that shrinks or fades away, it’s something we slowly learn to grow around. Think of it like a ball inside a jar: the ball stays the same size, but over time the jar gets bigger. It can feel like the grief has changed, but really, it’s us who’ve learned how to carry it.Anticipatory grief during a terminal illness often feels the same. You start to adjust, to find moments of stability or even hope… and then a new scan, an infection, or a sudden change in symptoms shatters the jar you worked so hard to rebuild. You’re thrown right back into the rawness, as if you’re grieving for the first time all over again.For many families, this cycle repeats again and again. It’s an emotional rollercoaster filled with guilt, anxiety, anger, loneliness, and sheer exhaustion. Bookings for our Christmas Party close on the 7th December to allow Santa to plan gifts for the children!This is a free event for families affected by the terminal illness of a parent/carer. The event takes place at St Erme Community Centre just outside of Truro.
